The North Hill House is a new home built on a small lot in historic Stillwater, MN. The house was the first new home to be awarded an Annual Preservation Award by the Stillwater Heritage Preservation Commission and was also featured on the American Institute of Architects, Homes by Architects Tour. The exterior of the home is a nod to the 19th century vernacular homes in the neighborhood. The interior reflects the home owners modern sensibility. Built on a narrow lot, every bit of space was creatively maximized. Spatial dimensions were exaggerated with seven-foot tall windows, nine-foot tall ceilings and eight-foot doors throughout the main floor. The floating stairs lead to a vaulted upper floor with transom windows over each bedroom door. The new home reflects older Stillwater homes with a wrap around porch, linear gable roof and detached garage. Light, volume and space makes this small home live large. Plans and specifications for this home are for sale. Please contact us for pricing.
